UVC Solutions with the Latest LED Technology

Efficient and safe disinfection

Disinfection and sterilisation are of utmost importance. In addition to the classic sterilisation methods using chemical liquids or sprays and the use of high temperatures, UVC radiation plays a particularly important role. In the wavelength range between 280 and 100 nm, pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms are killed within a very short time. Up to now, UVC emission has mainly been achieved with mercury-containing vapour lamps. However, with the rapid development of LED technology, it has been possible to develop ever more powerful LEDs that can be used effectively for disinfection while allowing a high degree of design flexibility.

Since the beginning of distribution for Nichia UV LEDs, we have produced customer-specific LED assemblies for UVA applications. Our PowerBar V3 LED strips were the first standard products with UV LEDs.
Since 2018 we have been intensively engaged in the application of UVC LED technology, especially the targeted disinfection with UV radiation, and now in 2020 the first standard modules with UVC LEDs will be produced in series.

The Professional Complete Solution

Violet UVC disinfection lamp with special optics and control unit in two versions

Our Violet disinfection lamp is a complete solution and is operated with constant voltage (48 V). In addition to a circuit board equipped with 12 UVC LEDs and three signal LEDs (red, green, blue), the linear modular luminaire also consists of a cover containing the special UV-resistant Violet optic from LEDiL and a robust aluminium housing that is very easy to install with screws. Furthermore, the case houses the PowerController V2, a compact control unit that offers the user options for safe operation of the module.

We offer the UVC luminaire in two versions. A mid-power version is equipped with Seoul Viosys UVC LEDs and offers a radiant power of 152 mW. The high-power version with the new NCSU334B UVC LEDs from world market leader Nichia is much more efficient at 630 mW.

Features

  • Constant voltage operation with 48 V
  • Mid-power version with 12 Seoul Viosys UVC LEDs (275 nm); radiant power: up to 152 mW
  • High-power version with 12 Nichia UVC LEDs type NCSU334B (280 nm); radiant power: up to 630 mW
  • Simple operation through integrated software
  • More safety through status LEDs

The Ready-to-use Solution

Violet UVC disinfection lamp with special optics in two versions

This module version also includes a circuit board with 12 UVC LEDs and three control diodes as well as a cover with the Violet rod lens of LEDiL. An external control unit can be easily connected. The constant current module (450 mA / 1050 mA) is primarily aimed at the processing industry, e.g. luminaire manufacturers or medical technology companies.

We also offer this module luminaire in two versions. The mid-power version is equipped with Seoul Viosys UVC LEDs and offers a radiant power of up to 192 mW. The high-power version with the new NCSU334B UVC LEDs from world market leader Nichia offers very high efficiency with up to 882 mW.

Features

  • Constant current operation: 450 mA / 1050 mA
  • Mid-power version with 12 Seoul Viosys UVC LEDs (275 nm); radiant power: up to 192 mW
  • High-power version with 12 Nichia UVC LEDs type NCSU334B (280 nm); radiant power: up to 882 mW
  • For the processing industry
  • More safety through status LEDs
  • External control unit easily connectable

Linear Assembly for the
Processing Industry

Violet UVC LED board in two versions

Our third professional UVC solution is available in the form of an aluminium circuit board, which, like the first two versions, is equipped with 12 UVC LEDs in two power levels. In addition, the optics have been omitted, but are available separately. Constant current (450 mA / 1050 mA) is required for operation. This solution is also primarily aimed at the processing industry.

The UVC LEDs from Seoul Viosys of the mid-power version achieve a radiant power of 264 mW at maximum current. The high-power version with Nichia NCSU334B LEDs achieves a sensational radiant power of 1176 mW at a current of 1500 mA.

Features

  • Constant current operation: 450 mA / 1050 mA
  • Mid-power version with 12 Seoul Viosys UVC LEDs (275 nm); radiant power: up to 264 mW
  • High-power version with 12 Nichia UVC LEDs type NCSU334B (280 nm); radiant power: up to 1176 mW
  • For the processing industry
  • More safety through status LEDs
  • External control unit easily connectable
  • Special UVC optics from LEDiL available separately

Efficient UVC Spot with Sophisticated Safety Concept

The UVC spotlight developed by us enables a powerful irradiation of a target object, ideally at a short distance of 5 – 21 cm.

The UVC spotlight can be manufactured in two hermetic housing versions: stainless steel or aluminium. Both materials are robust, insensitive to UV radiation and can also be easily cleaned.

The built-in quartz glass reflector with a particularly narrow beam angle of 13.5° enables the highest possible transmission factor (92%) and offers permanent UV stability.
Due to the complete tightness of the spotlight (IP68 protection), the extreme temperature stability of the materials used and the fact that the construction does not require any additional cooling, use in ambient conditions of up to 100° C is possible without any problems.

Nichia’s powerful NCSU334B LED is installed in the UVC spotlight. It emits at a wavelength of 280 nm and offers an optical radiant power of 70 mW. Optionally, another UVC LED or COB can be installed in the housing according to customer requirements. It is also possible to integrate a control unit for safe operation.

We would like to briefly explain one variant of safe operation here.

A combination of push-button, switch, motion sensor and three signal LEDs ensures that no person is present in the room in which the UVC spot is to provide a sterile environment. Only when the motion sensor registers no more movement after 60 seconds, the push-button is activated by closing the door and all safety conditions are met by a green signal LED, the UVC light can be activated via the switch. The following graphics provide a detailed structure of the safety concept.

The Flexible Control Unit

With the help of the PowerController V2, our professional UVC solutions can be safely controlled. Individual customer wishes and requirements can be easily realised by means of a software. This means that nothing stands in the way of a hazard-free use of our extremely efficient UVC solutions.

You can find more information about the PowerController V2 on the product information page.
